Hi! My name's Alice, or Orunitia, depending on what space you're meeting me in. I'm a web developer living in Germany, and I've got a beautifully coherent career path of how that happened, having started by studying law in England, falling in love, moving to Germany, working on a bar for several years (not as much easier than taking the bar as you'd think), and then using COVID to begin to learn web development and coding from a Udemy course. Since then, I was able to work for a few years with [name drops when this is less embarassing], which introduced me to the German hacker scene. Nowadays, I've developed that Chaos Computer Club ethos of doing things yourself. Hacking is a philosophy of owning your shit and I've fallen in love with it. Nowadays, I self-host most of my personal cloud services, as well as (technically) this website. I'm willing to get into things, solder PCB's, and rework them into entirely new usecases. There's something addictive in reclaiming that agency over the shiny metal and plastic boxes, and seeing them as tools you can modify and use as you please.
